To restore the maximum character of the build and keeping the built to its maximum original adopting to the modernist function “Pod Hotel”, Also known as Capsule Hotel, is a hotel that provides accommodation in form of a small clear capsule rooms, which are as large as a single bed.

CONCEPT

Considering the role of adaptive reuse on us and the unconventional state of function, This pod hotel will be universally designed such that it not only gives space to all those who want to crash in whenever required that may be a solo traveler or even a family coming in , but it will also cater to disabled people 100%. Each and every space will be designed in terms of it being accessible to all the users specified. To enhance their living experience there will be recreational spaces to make their stay even more memorable. The notion about a pod hotel being the one for specific user and not everyone can come and stay in, this pod hotel will be the place for them.

Design Programme

Everything tangible that together moves to formulate the final design. My design majorly revolves around providing a design which is Maximum accessible to the wheelchair user and on the same go the property will give an experience which all visitors will always cherish for, by providing them spaces that give them a feel about Ahmedabad’s culture.

Nature of Pod

THE PODS WIL BE SUCH THAT IT CAN BE BEST FIT FOR THE USERS THAT WILL BE USING IT. Category catering to disabled people which gives them a spacious pod with attached facilities. other category will be the one serving to couples and families with cozy tight space with double bed Then a one best for solo tarvellers that will give them options of bunk beds and sharing rooms of single beds.

Nature of Service Block

Block the entire service block will be designed keeping in mind all the design aesthetics that are required for disabled person to use the service space but on the same hand giving provision for the accessibilty of a normal to even use it comfortably. There will be two sets one public bathrooms near to looby and admin area for the visitors and then other near restaurant . Staff block will have seperate set of service space

Pods available will be in three different categories. This space is user friendly will be created such that everybody who comes in gets a cozy emotional experience of their life that they could cherish for.

Serving to disabled ambulant visitors

Such pods will be designed keeping in mind accessibility required by disabled people.

Solo travelers with short stay

Such pods will serve to majority visiting category such as business man and travelers and even students.

Serving to families or couples

The least probably used pod which will serve to all the families interested in getting pod experience.

DESIGN IDEALIZATION

Pods will serve their guests with all the basic amenities such as a comfortable bed with siting space. Pods for disabled will have space for wheelchair. Other than the basic, the pods will serve with Wi-Fi, foldable tv screens for entertainment and sliding foldable working desk for the time of work. These pods will all be light and temperature controlled facilitated.

Two categories of pod will have bathroom attached with automatic locking door technology and other category will common shared bathrooms.

Bathrooms for disabled pods will be in sharing for 2 rooms. They will be designed exactly as per the needs of the ambulant person.
